Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals for models of the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is neither a kit nor an interior accessory — it is a standalone sheet of markings with which you can re-mark a model built from any kit in the matching scale. The third part designation means the sheet follows on from earlier sheets in the same series; check the particular schemes shown against the illustration of the sheet on the packaging.
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat twin-engined aircraft intended for close support of ground forces. Its characteristic features are two turbofan engines mounted high on the sides of the rear fuselage, twin vertical tail surfaces and a rugged structure with a heavily armored cockpit. It carries a seven-barrel rotary cannon of 30 mm caliber built into the nose, around which the whole airframe is designed. It is popular among modelers partly for the varied range of its finishes, from gray schemes to period camouflage.
Waterslide decals go onto a smooth, glossy base — so once the paints are sprayed, coat the area with gloss varnish, or a matte cloudiness will remain under the decal. Cut the sheet close to the artwork, soak the decal in lukewarm water for just a few seconds and let it soften on the paper for a moment. Transfer it with tweezers, slide it into place with a brush and blot the excess water away with a cotton swab. On engraved lines and rivets a drop of softener helps. Once everything is thoroughly dry, give the whole model a matte or semi-matte clear coat that hides the edges of the decals.
