MASTER 1:72 A-4 Skyhawk — bent refueling probe is a detail accessory in turned metal. It is not an aircraft model but a replacement for the plastic refueling probe on Skyhawk kits in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory from MASTER is not a kit and not an aircraft model — it is a turned metal refueling probe with which you replace the soft and usually inaccurate plastic part from a kit. The metal part is perfectly straight, thin and resistant to bending; fitted on a model it is convincing even at close range.
The Skyhawk used two different types of refueling probe during its service. The older straight probe pointed forward, while the later bent type is characteristically curved so that the tip of the probe is more visible from the cockpit and easier to guide into the drogue basket of a tanker aircraft. It is this bent version that this set contains — it was used on the A-4M, A-4N, OA-4M and on late A-4E/F and TA-4F/J aircraft. So check which Skyhawk variant you are building: a different set is intended for the older aircraft with the straight probe.
For modelers building the American carrier attack aircraft A-4 Skyhawk in its later forms who want this exposed and easily damaged detail in metal. Fitting is simple and even a moderately advanced builder will manage it.
This is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
