Masking stencils for the landing gear bays of an A-4E or A-4F Skyhawk model in 1:72 scale, cut for the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masking stencils in 1:72 scale that follow the shape of the openings of the landing gear bays on a Skyhawk model. It is intended for the Hasegawa kit in the A-4E and A-4F versions.
The landing gear bays usually have a different shade from the surrounding surface and tend to be finished before the camouflage. Covering them with paper and adhesive tape takes more time than the spraying itself and the edge of an opening rarely comes out sharp from it. A stencil covers an opening exactly and straight away. No paint and no sanding dust get into a bay, and the cleaning up during which the fine pipework inside is easily broken off falls away.
The Skyhawk is a single-seat carrier attack aircraft with a delta wing. It was so small that it did not have to be folded for storage on an aircraft carrier. The machine was among the smallest carrier aircraft of its day and among the longest serving.
First paint the inside of a bay and let it dry. Only then lay the stencil on and press the edges down with a toothpick. Spray the paint square to the surface and in thin coats, so that it does not run under. Take the stencil off shortly after spraying, while the coat is not yet hard; later the edge peels.
The package contains the masking stencils alone. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
