An accessory with the AGM-65 Maverick air-to-ground guided missile in 1:72 scale for models of combat aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AGM-65 Maverick is an American air-to-ground guided missile intended against ground targets, armored vehicles and fortified positions. It came about in several versions, which differ from one another in the seeker head and the warhead; the carriers tended to be combat aircraft of Western manufacture, on which the missiles are hung on underwing pylons, as a rule on launch rails. On a model it is a conspicuous external store that gives the machine an attacking look.
An accessory to a model of an aircraft in 1:72 scale. Replacing the external stores from an ordinary kit pays off precisely with missiles: they have a simple, smooth shape on which every inaccuracy or trace of manufacture shows at once.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic will not join them; use cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that the cylindrical shape of the body of the missile is not disturbed. Wash and degrease before painting. You will find the specific preparation procedure in the maker's instructions. The fins and the seeker head tend to be thin, so handle them carefully and hold them by the body, not by the edges. When fitting them, take care that the missiles hang parallel with the longitudinal axis of the aircraft, at the same height and with the fins at the same rotation; asymmetry of the external stores shows on a finished model at first glance.
The set suits builders of combat aircraft in 1:72 scale who want credible armament under the wings instead of simplified parts, and also those who are putting a stock of external stores aside.
A model, a kit, pylons, paints and glue are not part of the supply, unless stated otherwise.
