A die-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a kit and not a model but an accessory for modelers in 1:72 scale that makes masking the cockpit glazing and the wheels more precise and quicker when spraying paint. The precisely shaped masks are made of fine Japanese kabuki tape.
The masks are stuck onto the frames of the cockpit canopy and onto the wheel rims, so that after spraying the glass stays clear and the tires stay free of paint. Kabuki tape adapts to curved shapes, holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. The result is sharp, straight lines on the canopy frames without laboriously cutting tape by hand.
The Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero (Reisen), the Model 21 version also designated A6M2b, was a carrier fighter of the Japanese imperial navy from the start of the war in the Pacific. It was powered by a Nakajima Sakae radial engine and the machine became famous for its exceptional range and agility. It was the Model 21 that took part in the attack on Pearl Harbor and in the early fighting over the Pacific.
The set contains only the die-cut masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included.
