Dead Design 1:72 insignia masks for the Mitsubishi A6M5 Reisen aim at the most numerously built form of the Zero.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Dead Design set deals with the hinomaru on a Mitsubishi A6M5 model in 1:72 scale. The Model 52 was the most numerously built form of the Zero and its markings are among the most frequently addressed details of Japanese fighters of the second half of the war. A sprayed insignia also does not need the gloss base that an applied decal forces on you.
The A6M5 received a clipped wing with rounded tips and above all individual exhaust stacks, which added several tens of kilometers per hour. It was an attempt to keep pace with the new generation of American fighters, but the engine power stayed practically the same and the difference proved insufficient. Even so the A6M5 became the backbone of the Japanese units and most of the pilots of the last great air battles over the Pacific sat in its cockpit.
The dark green spine of the late Zeros calls for a white preparation under the red, otherwise the disc will darken to a brick tone. Lay the white only into the area of the future insignia, not around it, so that no map forms under the later clear coat. Lift the mask with a pull back over itself, not straight up. Remove small overruns with a toothpick whose tip is wrapped in cotton and with a minimum of thinner, and sooner rather than after it has dried.
