An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M1A2 SEP main battle tank fitted with a mine clearing system (a mine plow) in 1:72 scale from Flyhawk. Against the basic version of the tank, the set adds new sprues for assembling the mine clearing equipment. The detail is completed by photo-etched parts and a good decal sheet with several marking options.
The M1A2 SEP is a modern version of the M1 Abrams tank with improved electronics and protection, armed with a 120 mm smoothbore gun. The attached mine plow lets the tank breach lanes through minefields and open the way for other vehicles, which makes it an important combat engineering platform.
Use a thin plastic cement and assemble the running gear before closing up the hull. Build the sturdy mine plow as the instructions describe and paint it separately. After the base color from an airbrush, bring the model to life with washes and dust pigments; on the plow, earthy weathering and scuffs from the soil will stand out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
