A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Model Maker for a model of the multipurpose Antonov An-2 biplane. The subtitle refers to the name given to a particular machine. The set is an accessory, not a kit or a finished model. Check the exact contents of the sheet against the illustration on the packaging. Note: the manufacturer also issues a set of masks under the same name; these are decals.
The An-2 is a single-engined biplane with a radial engine, built in enormous numbers and used for transport, agricultural, parachuting and sporting tasks. A large part of the machines were built under license in Poland, which explains the type's rich Polish operating history. Recognition features are its tall fuselage, the pair of strut-braced wings and the unmistakable silhouette, thanks to which the model is interesting even among fighters in a display case. The large areas of covering also give room for bold color schemes.
A biplane has a great deal of ribbed surface, so it pays to prepare the surface carefully. Overcoat the area under the decal with gloss clear varnish and let it cure. Cut the motif out closely, dip it in warm water for a few seconds and let it rest on a towel until the film slides freely. Carry it to the model with a brush, seat it and blot the surplus water off. On ribs and fabric covering a softener is practically a necessity; apply a thin layer and let the film work undisturbed. Once dry, rinse the adhesive residues off and even the surface out with a matte or satin varnish, so the sheen of the markings does not differ from its surroundings.
The decals are an accessory for a kit. The kit, the paints, the varnishes and the softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
