A set of self-adhesive painting masks for a model of the Arado Ar 396 aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory that makes spraying easier. The die-cut masks follow the frames of the cockpit glazing exactly and make it possible to spray them cleanly and sharply.
Masking the frames with tape by hand is slow and prone to inaccuracy. Pre-shaped masks speed this work up considerably and give straight, sharp edges. After spraying they come off easily and leave no adhesive residue.
Clean fingerprints and dust off the glazing, press the masks down carefully along the frames and apply the paint in thin coats. Take the masks off with tweezers, ideally before the finish has fully hardened.
