A kit of the German single-seat high-wing monoplane Arado Ar 76 in 1:72 scale. A less usual type from the mid-1930s.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Arado Ar 76 was a German single-seat high-wing monoplane of the mid-1930s with fixed landing gear and an open cockpit. It came about at a time when a machine was being sought that could be used both for advanced training and for light fighter duty, and it was in training that it spent most of its career. To this day it is among the types that appear in display cases only rarely.
The model is in 1:72 scale, that is in the most widespread size for aircraft, so it fits easily among the other machines in a collection. A small interwar type at the same time takes up markedly less room than the machines of the later war and beside them shows well how quickly aircraft changed in the 1930s.
Start with the cockpit; with an open canopy there is a view into it and even a small inaccuracy can cost you. Dry-fit the parts before gluing; the seams are then easier to level. Fit the struts and the fixed landing gear only onto a cured fuselage and work with the model held in a jig, so that nothing moves. Apply the paint in thin coats and choose the scheme according to the instructions in the package. Take the transitions between shades through with several light passes rather than with one thick coat.
The kit will be appreciated by enthusiasts of interwar aviation and by collectors of unusual types. Paints, glue and putty are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
