What the accessory is for

A car model in 1:24 scale takes on an entirely different dimension the moment a workshop grows up around it. A workbench, an engine stand, pressure cylinders, tools on the floor: only these things give away that the car is being worked on right now. The accessory belongs to a line that builds such a garage up piece by piece, and it aims at the theme of welding, that is at one of the most conspicuous activities in any workshop.

Scale and setting

The 1:24 scale matches ordinary car kits, and the accessory belongs among detail parts for models of cars and Formula racers. Sister items in the same line cover further workshop equipment, for example pressure cylinders, an engine stand or a set with a workbench, a vise and a bench drill press, so a scene can be filled out step by step. The exact form and the number of parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions; go through them before you start building.

Building and painting tips

• Tip the small parts out into a dish and pick them up with tweezers, not with your fingers
• Choose the glue according to the material of the part; for parts other than polystyrene, super glue is used
• Before painting, wash the surface, degrease it and lay down a primer coat
• Tie the workshop equipment in with the rest of the scene through dirt and dust, or it will look newly delivered

Workshop equipment is usually built and painted separately and seated in the scene only at the end, when it is clear how much room is left around the car.
