Avia Bk-534 / B-534, 4th version (later variant) - cut painting masks 1:72, from Peewit

A set of precisely cut self-adhesive painting masks in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Peewit. The masks in thin masking (washi) tape follow the division of the frames of the enclosed cockpit of the Avia Bk-534 / B-534 biplane of the fourth series in its later variant and are usually complemented by circular masks for the wheels. It is not a kit and not a model - it is a masking accessory for a clean, quick coat on the glazing. The pre-shaped pieces take the place of laborious cutting of tape.

The real subject

The Avia B-534 was one of the best fighter biplanes of the 1930s. The cannon-armed Bk-534 version differed from the standard machine in its armament - a cannon mounted in the engine was planned for it. This set corresponds to the later variant of the fourth production series with an enclosed cockpit.

Use and tips

• Lift the mask from the carrier film with tweezers and press it onto the part into the engraved lines of the frames.
• Spray the shade of the frames first (the interior color of the cockpit) and only then, once it is dry, the exterior finish.
• Check that the set corresponds to the later variant of the enclosed cockpit of your kit.
• Lift the masks while the coat is fresh, so that they do not tear off the surrounding layer.
• Use the circular masks on the wheel hubs.
