The Quickboost 1:72 B-17G Flying Fortress resin engines are an aftermarket detail set: front castings of the radial engines for models of the American B-17G bomber. It is not an airplane model but an accessory that raises its realism.
Responsibility details are not available.
This product is an aftermarket accessory, not an airplane kit. The set holds cast resin fronts of the radial engines for models of the Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress bomber in 1:72 scale. The castings offer markedly finer rendering of the cylinders and the valve gear than the plastic parts from the box, so once they are fitted into the engine nacelles the front of the engine looks far more convincing. The set comes from Quickboost, a range of the Aires brand.
The B-17 Flying Fortress was a four-engine American heavy bomber of the Second World War, one of the icons of strategic bombing in Europe. It was powered by four air-cooled Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial engines; their characteristic cylinder layout is typical of the look of the aircraft, and it is exactly this part that the set sharpens up.
Separate the castings from the casting blocks, wash off any release agent residue and clean them up. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend painting the engines separately before fitting and bringing out the valve gear with a dry brush or a wash. Sand with respiratory protection and dry-fit every part before you glue it in.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
