Quickboost 1:72 B-24 Liberator turbocharger cover is a resin replacement part for refining a model of the American four-engine heavy bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin replacement turbocharger cover for a model of the American four-engine heavy bomber Consolidated B-24 Liberator in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a small detail part from Quickboost that replaces the corresponding piece from the base kit with a more faithful casting with sharper edges and a cleaner shape. The casting refines the powerplant area, where the plastic part tends to be simplified.
The B-24 Liberator was one of the most widely used American heavy bombers of the Second World War. It was powered by four Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engines fitted with turbochargers, which let the aircraft keep its performance at high altitude. The high-mounted Davis wing and the twin rudders were characteristic. The turbocharger covers were among the prominent details of the engine nacelles and have a noticeable effect on the accuracy of the front of the nacelle.
First wash the part to remove any mold release residue. Separate it carefully from the casting block with a saw or a sharp knife and bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Sand with respiratory protection, because resin dust is very fine. Before painting, roughen the surface lightly and apply a primer suitable for resin so that the paint keys well.
This is an accessory for refining a plastic kit, not a stand-alone model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
