The B-25 Mitchell Mk.II masking set from Art Scale is a modeling accessory intended for covering the clear parts while spraying. It is not a kit. The term double-sided means that the set covers the masking of the outer as well as the inner side of the glazing, so the frames can be painted from the inside too. The shape of the templates matches the Airfix kit.
The North American B-25 Mitchell was an American twin-engine medium bomber with Wright Cyclone radial engines, twin rudders and a slightly cranked wing. The Mitchell Mk.II designation was carried in Commonwealth service by machines corresponding to the American B-25C and B-25D versions. The type was exceptionally widespread and a number of Allied air forces used it in Europe and overseas, from classic bombing from altitude to attacks from low level. The model has extensive glazing: a glazed nose for the navigator and bombardier, a pilots' cockpit with framing of its own and gun positions, so the number of frames to paint is large.
Wash and degrease the clear part before sticking anything on. Lift the masks off with tweezers, lay them on the frame and press them down with a soft tool so that the edges seat along their whole length. On curves a fan of small cuts helps, or careful trimming with a sharp scalpel right on the part. With a double-sided set work from the back: mask and spray the inner side in the interior shade, let it dry, then mask the outside and spray the base coat and the top color. Keep the coats thin, because heavy paint builds a ridge under the edge of the mask that stays as a step once it is removed. Take the masks off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch.
