Printed acrylic three millimeters thick in a format of 280 x 180 millimeters, weight 170 grams. The designation Type 2 refers to the second rendition of the same subject, so a collector who already owns one version gets a different crop of the surface and does not have to have the same thing twice in the display case.
The subject is the made-up surface of a Polish military airfield, that is the setting in which the machines of the Polish Air Force serve. Types of Eastern design nearing the end of their service alternate there with modern fighters of Western manufacture, and the surface is equally believable for both. Concrete slabs, joints and guide lines give the model scale, and a photograph will reveal at once where the machine is standing. At the same time the surface is not tied to a single era or to a single kind of armament.
The layer of color will stand ordinary handling, but dry rubbing does not do it any good. Sweep dust off with a soft brush and remove fingerprints with a lightly dampened cloth with no chemicals. Solvents, spirit and furniture polishes would dull the surface. Store the board flat, not leaning against a wall, where its own weight could bow it in time.
