Belgian F-16AM 75 Years 2nd Squadron Comet is a sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the brand Model Maker. It is not a kit but an accessory for a finished, painted model of the Belgian F-16AM. According to the name it is an anniversary scheme connected with the second squadron, whose badge carries a comet.
The designation F-16AM belongs to single-seat machines that have been through an upgrade program and differ from the original examples mainly in their cockpit equipment and avionics. The Belgian Air Force operated these aircraft for many years, and the individual squadrons keep badges of their own, which appear on the vertical tail and on the fuselage.
The airframe of the F-16 has sharp transitions between the fuselage and the leading edges, pronounced panel engraving and a number of small covers. A decal will not pass over them without help. First seat the decal on a glossy surface and press the water out from under it. Only when it is in place, brush the softener on and let it work without further interference. With deeper engraving the step is repeated a second time, or once it is dry the decal is lightly cut with the tip of a scalpel exactly along the line of the engraving, so that the film drops into it instead of bridging it.
The decals are an accessory for a model. The model, the paints, the varnishes and the softeners are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
