An injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4/7 in 1:72 scale from the Hobby Boss range. It is a later version of the Emil series. The model belongs to the simplified Easy Assembly range, with a low part count and large one-piece sections of the airframe. The package holds decals for two markings; the exact contents may differ from one release to another.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was the main German fighter of the first years of the war. Against the earlier E-3 the E-4 version received an improved wing cannon armament, better armor and a reworked, less bulged canopy. The additional E-7 variant also made it possible to carry a drop tank or a bomb under the fuselage, which increased both the range and the scope of its missions. The Emils were powered by the inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine.
Glue the large airframe parts with a thin cement for plastic and sand the joints down. Mask and paint the framed canopy separately; fit any ventral pylon only after the base coat. Lay the German schemes of the turn of 1940 and 1941 on with an airbrush over a primer and add a wash to the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
