A plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the maker Sova Model. The model represents the float form of the single-engine Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the W-2 conversion and, according to the name of the package, a beach trolley belongs with it as well, that is a wheeled cradle on which a floatplane is pulled out of the water onto the shore and moved on land. The set is meant to be glued together and painted.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was an all-metal single-seat fighter with a low wing, an inverted V12 engine under its cowling and a characteristically narrow track of the main undercarriage. The float form replaces the wheeled undercarriage with a pair of floats carried on a system of struts, which changes both the distribution of masses and the behavior of the machine in the air and makes movement on the ground under its own power impossible. That is exactly why a beach trolley was supplied with float aircraft.
A float version stands or falls with the seating of the floats and the struts. Try the parts dry first, glue the floats on only after lining up the symmetry against the fuselage and let the joint cure undisturbed, and only then add the struts. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, fill the gaps and sand them down. Apply a primer before painting and mask the glazing of the canopy. The smooth faces of the floats come out well after spraying with an airbrush; lay the decals onto a gloss base and seal them with varnish in the degree of gloss you want. The beach trolley suggests itself as a separate feature of a small diorama with a water surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
