A terrain base with a bridge structure. A bridge is among the themes that solve a composition for you by themselves: it has a clear axis, it leads the gaze from one side to the other and it offers two levels of height you will never gain with a flat board.
A model placed on a bridge acts as though it were heading somewhere just now. You do not have to add any further prop, because the shape of the structure itself carries the direction. The best result comes from a placing off center, with the vehicle roughly two thirds along the length and free space left in front of it.
The upper surface is exposed to traffic and to the weather, so work there with lighter, bleached shades and with the traces of passing wheels. The lower reaches, by contrast, hold damp and shadow, so a darker deposit, seepage and a greenish film at the edges belong there. The difference between the two levels is what gives the structure its volume.
If you decide to create water beneath the structure, apply the medium in several thin layers and let each one cure fully. Color the bed darker toward the middle, because depth is not made in a model by the thickness of the medium but by the color beneath it.
