A Montex masking set for a model of the Bristol Type 170 Freighter in 1:72 scale simplifies painting the extensive glazing of the flight deck of this freight veteran.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Montex accessory for painting a model of the British Bristol Type 170 Freighter cargo aircraft. It is not a model of the machine but an aid for the finishing stage: the templates define the frames of the flight deck, so the clear areas stay transparent and the edges of the camouflage straight. You use them once the model in 1:72 scale is glued and sanded.
The Bristol Type 170 flew shortly after the Second World War as a plain and deliberately uncomplicated cargo machine. Its hallmarks are the clamshell doors in the nose, an angular fuselage with a large internal space and fixed landing gear that does not disappear into nacelles. Civil carriers put it on ferry routes across the English Channel, where cars drove into its belly, and military versions flew with the air forces of New Zealand, Canada and Pakistan. Thanks to its undemanding nature the machines stayed in service on remote routes long after production ended.
Before fitting the templates, free the glazing of grease and dust, otherwise the edge is sprayed inaccurately. Go over the frames with a fine point so that they follow the relief of the molding, and only then spray the base shade. Anyone who wants the impression of a real transport machine should build the camouflage or the civil finish up in layers and let the paint cure properly between them. Revealing the edges is then surer and there is no risk of the paint tearing away.
The paints, the glue and the kit itself are not included in the delivery.
