The flaps of the Canadair CL-215 amphibious water bomber in 1:72 scale: replacement parts that give the wing of the model the extended position of the trailing edge.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory changes the look of the wing of one of the best known firefighting aircraft. Instead of a smooth trailing edge cast in one piece, the model gets sections lowered downward, as they are seen during a slow pass over the seat of a fire or while scooping water. The difference is clear at first glance and turns a static display piece into a scene caught in motion.
The Canadair CL-215 was designed for firefighting from the outset, not converted from a transport type. It has a boat hull, a high-mounted wing and a pair of piston radial engines, which give it its characteristic deep note. It takes on water in flight: it descends over the surface of a lake, extends the pickup probes and fills the tanks within a few seconds, without having to land. Machines of this type served in Canada and in the Mediterranean and a number of them still fly today. The designation of the base kit you can read in the name of the goods.
First mark the parting line on the underside of the wing and only then reach for the file. Try the sections dry and fill any play with a thin plastic profile, not with coarse putty. The striking yellow and red firefighting scheme needs a light base, otherwise the shades go dark. Paint the insides of the lowered surfaces before you glue them to the model.
