Injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian Centauro wheeled armored vehicle in the B1T version in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ACE. The package holds plastic sprues with the parts, a photo-etched fret, rubber tires, decals and instructions with a color scheme. The finished model is about 109 millimeters long, so it fits well into a display case with other equipment in small scale.
The Centauro is an Italian wheeled fighting vehicle in an 8x8 configuration, usually counted among tank destroyers, because it combines the firepower of a turret gun with the speed and range of a wheeled chassis. The B1T version is derived from the original and has a lengthened hull, thanks to which it can carry several infantrymen besides the crew, and it is intended mainly for patrol and escort work.
In small scale the cleanliness of the work decides: sand the mold parting lines carefully, dry-fit the parts before gluing and fill the seams on the hull, because on a smooth surface they show more than on a busy tracked vehicle. Bend the photo-etched parts over a steel ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Fit the tires only after the rims have been painted. Spray the camouflage thinly so that the engraved detail does not disappear, apply the decals over a gloss base and finally unify the surface with a matte varnish. Keep the weathering in proportion to the scale, which means a fine wash and light dust on the lower areas and around the wheels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
