Quinta Studio 1:72 CF-104 Starfighter (early period), 3D-printed interior offers color-printed raised cockpit details on decal backing paper for CF-104 models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A colored 3D-printed cockpit interior from Quinta Studio in 1:72 scale. The details are printed in several layers on decal backing paper, so the instrument panel and the side consoles look three-dimensional and stand higher than an ordinary decal. It is neither photo-etched metal nor resin, and it is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory for sharpening up the interior of a CF-104 model in the early build.
The CF-104 Starfighter was the Canadian license version of the Lockheed F-104 operated by the Royal Canadian Air Force. In the early period, roughly between 1961 and 1975, it filled the strike and reconnaissance role and was deployed above all in Europe. The layout and the markings of the cockpit that the set reproduces match that time.
First coat the surfaces of the cockpit with a gloss varnish (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let it dry. Cut the part from the sheet, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place; it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds precisely on the gloss varnish. On busy surfaces a drop of cyanoacrylate helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal setter, as their chemistry attacks the printed resin. The pre-printed colors need no painting.
This is a supplementary set of decals, not a kit of an aircraft. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
