A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Hauler intended for detailing a plastic model of a Chevrolet truck in the equipment of the British Long Range Desert Group (L.R.D.G.) unit. This is not a standalone model but an accessory that replaces and adds the fine parts which cannot be molded in injection plastic. The target kit is the Dragon kit.

The real subject

The Long Range Desert Group was a British reconnaissance and raiding unit operating in the North African desert during the Second World War. It used modified Chevrolet trucks with a long range, carrying supplies of water and fuel and armament for deep raids into the enemy rear.

Building tips

Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bend them in a bending tool or with the help of a steel ruler. Use cyanoacrylate glue for gluing. Degrease the parts before painting and give them a coat of primer.
