1:72 Consolidated B-24H Liberator SPACE - a set of 3D decals from Eduard's SPACE line for the cockpit of the Liberator in 1:72.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set from the SPACE line of the Czech company Eduard which uses 3D decals to lift the interior of the Consolidated B-24H Liberator bomber in 1:72 scale. The SPACE line concentrates on the instrument panel and the internal fittings of the cockpit, where decals with a raised relief take the place of the flat printing of the kit.
The B-24 Liberator was one of the most numerously produced American aircraft in history. The H version brought a nose gun turret as the answer to head-on attacks by German fighters, and a large part of the production was handled by the Ford Motor Company at the huge Willow Run plant. Liberators carried the main weight of the daylight bombing offensive over Europe as well as of the long-range patrols over the Atlantic. Crews valued the aircraft for its great range and load, even though flying a fully laden machine was among the more demanding jobs.
Spray the instrument panel with a semi-gloss before the decal goes on, so that the base wets properly. 3D decals need gentle handling - settle them without pulling, with only light pressure from a dampened brush. Split the work into smaller units and let each one cure properly before you start the next.
The SPACE line is usually used together with masks for the glazing; sharp canopy frames give the glazed nose of the Liberator the same clean look that a new instrument panel has.
