Peewit 1:72 Curtiss P-40E and P-40K Warhawk is a self-adhesive masking set for the cockpit glazing. It is an accessory to a plastic model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Peewit for a plastic model of the Curtiss P-40 fighter in the P-40E and P-40K versions in 1:72 scale. The set serves to cover the cockpit glazing quickly and accurately during spraying, so that the frames come out crisp and the clear areas stay untouched. It is not a model or a kit, but an accessory cut to suit a particular kit in this scale.
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was an American fighter and ground-attack aircraft with an Allison V12 engine, one of the most widespread Allied types of the first half of the Second World War. The P-40E version brought heavier armament in the wing, and the P-40K form was given a more powerful engine and, on some machines, an enlarged vertical tail surface, which compensated for the greater torque. The cockpit of both versions has an intricate framed canopy with several separate panes.
Lift the mask off with tweezers, lay it on clean and degreased glazing and press it down with a soft tool all the way round. Spray the frames with the interior shade first, so that the outer camouflage does not show through from inside. Apply the paint in two passes in thin layers. If you are planning chipped paint or heavy weathering, bear in mind that it is better to take the mask off before applying varnishes and washes, so that liquid does not get under it.
The package contains only the masks. The model, paints and glue are not part of the supply, unless stated otherwise.
