The 1:72 de Havilland Canada DHC-4 and C-7 Caribou decal sheet from Caracal Models is a standalone set of waterslide decals for models of this tactical transport aircraft. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the brand Caracal Models, intended for models of the twin-engined Caribou transport aircraft. It is not a model: the plastic kit and the paints you obtain separately. The designation DHC-4 is the factory one, while C-7 is the later American military designation of the same type. Which particular machines and which schemes the sheet covers is given by the manufacturer on its packaging and in the instructions enclosed, so look at them before buying.
The DHC-4 Caribou is a Canadian twin-engined transport aircraft with radial piston engines, a high-mounted wing and a markedly upswept rear fuselage with a cargo ramp. It flew at the end of the 1950s and its main assets were short take-off and landing, a robust undercarriage and the ability to operate from unpaved strips. That is exactly why it found a use in supplying remote places that an ordinary transport aircraft could not reach. In American service it was carried first under the designation CV-2 and from 1967 as the C-7, when the type passed to the US Air Force. It spread to further users around the world as well and many examples finished their flying in civil hands.
The fuselage of the Caribou has pronounced riveting and panel lines, and a decal is reluctant to follow the shape across them. A decal softener helps: once the piece is settled in place, it is laid on its surface with a brush and left to work without further touching until the decal wrinkles slightly and adheres. After that do not move it, otherwise it will tear. With deeper lines it pays, once dry, to run the point of a scalpel along the joint and to repeat the application of the softener.
The package contains only a decal sheet. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
