A resin detail set in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Quickboost (Aires brand). It is not an airplane kit but an accurate replacement for the landing gear doors of a plastic model of the British Boulton Paul Defiant Mk.I fighter. The parts are finely cast with thin edges and faithful relief, so they replace the thicker plastic doors from the box and sharpen the look of the retractable landing gear.
The Boulton Paul Defiant was a British fighter of the early Second World War, unusual for its powered dorsal turret with four machine guns instead of fixed forward armament. In the Mk.I version it served mainly as a night fighter. The landing gear doors closed the gear bays and, on a model with the gear down, they are among the visible details.
Wash the resin parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks carefully and test-fit them; bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Prime the doors, blend them with the color of the model and set the inner faces apart; a fine wash in the recesses will bring out the relief.
This is a resin detail set, not a kit. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
