The F-100 Super Sabre 1:72, landing gear bay masks, Hasegawa separate the inside of the landing gear bays from the outer shade of the airframe.
Responsibility details are not available.
You will take this set in hand only with the shell of the airframe finished, not at the beginning of the build. It covers the surroundings of the landing gear openings, so paint does not escape inside during spraying and, the other way round, the light interior does not reach the camouflage. The set is shaped for the seventy-second scale kit from Hasegawa, which sets it apart from two further variants of the same set intended for other kits.
The North American F-100 followed on from the famous Sabre but moved a generation further. The wing received a sweep of forty-five degrees, the fuselage a lengthened shape with an oval air intake and the engine was a Pratt and Whitney J57 with an afterburner. The result was the first American production fighter to exceed the speed of sound in level flight, not in a dive. It got the nickname Hun from the pilots after the shortened hundred-series designation, and its beginnings were accompanied by a series of accidents that led to a lengthening of the wing and the vertical tail.
The interior of the bays first, then the covering, then the airframe. Place the pieces exactly along the outline, press the edges down with a toothpick and lay the shade on from the edge toward the middle of an area. Before you take the covering off, check against the light whether a strip of uncovered paint is left anywhere.
