Resin bomb bay door pistons for the F-102A Delta Dagger 1:72 from Aires/Quickboost. A detail replacement for the actuating pistons of the weapons bay doors.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the aircraft aftermarket maker Aires/Quickboost is a resin replacement for the pistons, that is the actuating mechanisms of the doors of the internal weapons bay, for a model of the F-102A Delta Dagger interceptor in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane kit but a detail accessory that, on a model with the bay open, replaces the simplified plastic parts with truer castings of the actuating pistons.
The Convair F-102A Delta Dagger was an American supersonic Cold War interceptor with a delta wing, whose armament was carried in an internal bay in the fuselage. The bay doors were worked by pistons, which are clearly visible with the bay open.
First wash the resin parts to remove any mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend fitting the pistons on a model with the bay doors open; pick out the metal surfaces with steel shades and dirty them lightly.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
