This resin set in 1:72 scale is meant for changing the exhaust nozzles on a model of the twin-engined F-15 Eagle fighter. The name covers the F-15A, F-15B, F-15C, F-15D and F-15E versions and the Japanese F-15J, and it is the form designated as late, with the flaps drawn in. It is not a model of an aircraft; it is a replacement part that is glued into a plastic kit already bought.
Reskit supplies the nozzles in two flap positions, and the choice between them is not cosmetic. The position of the flaps on the real aircraft changes with the engine setting and with whether the aircraft is standing with the engines shut down. This set matches the closed position. Before you buy it, compare it with photographs of the particular aircraft and the situation you want to capture on the model; on a twin-engined aircraft both nozzles are regularly in the same position, so a mismatch is conspicuous on a finished model.
Wash the mold release agent off the castings, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surface on sanding paper laid on glass; only that gives a flat mating surface and keeps the nozzle from pointing off axis once glued. Dry sanding of resin creates a fine dust, so work with a respirator or wet. Glue with super glue and set both nozzles at once, while the glue is still workable, so that they hold the same angle. The painting is rewarding: metal shades stand out on a smooth gloss base, a dark wash brings out the seams between the flaps and a light hint of burnt tones at the edges adds depth. Paint the inside of the nozzle before you glue it in; a brush will not get there later.
The accessory is supplied unpainted; the kit and paints are not included in the package.
