A kit of the Japanese F-4EJ Phantom II fighter in 1:72 scale. The release is built around the striking special color scheme of the Japanese aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-4EJ is the Japanese version of the F-4E Phantom II fighter, built under license in Japan for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. It is a two-seat machine with the crew in tandem, powered by a pair of turbojet engines. The Phantom is recognizable from a distance by its cranked wing with upturned tips and by its drooping tailplanes. The E version, on which the Japanese aircraft are based, carried an internal cannon in the nose.
The release is built around the special color scheme of the Japanese aircraft, that is around a striking scheme of the kind not seen on ordinary service machines. The marking options on offer and their placement are specified in the instructions supplied with the kit.
Before gluing, clean the excess material and the production marks off the parts, sand the mating surfaces and test fit the assembly dry. The two-seat cockpit is visible under the long canopy, so finish and paint it before you close the fuselage up; then mask the clear parts before spraying. A striking color scheme cannot be done without a smooth gloss base, or bubbles form under the large decals and their edges show. Lay the large printed areas down in sections and keep pressing the air out.
Paints, glue, filler and add-on sets are not included, unless stated otherwise.
