Landing gear bay masks for the Vought F-8E Crusader in 1:72 scale are shaped for the Hasegawa kit and serve to separate the inner space from the skin.

A covering set for the lower areas of a Vought F-8E Crusader model. The outlines are cut to the seventy-second scale kit from the Hasegawa company, because the target kit precisely is what sets this item apart from its otherwise identically named siblings. The package contains exclusively covering pieces for painting.
The Crusader was nicknamed the last true gun fighter, because besides missiles it relied on four twenty-millimeter Colt Mk 12 cannon as well. The most conspicuous design feature was the wing with a variable angle of incidence: on takeoff and landing the whole lifting surface rose by several degrees, so the fuselage stayed at a smaller angle and the pilot could see over the nose to the deck. A Pratt and Whitney J57 engine with an afterburner made it the first production carrier aircraft of the US Navy to exceed the speed of sound in level flight. The E sub-version received a strengthened lifting surface with pylons and a radar for air-to-air missiles, thanks to which it managed attacks on ground targets as well.
Paint the space for the retracted landing gear and let it dry out, and only then lay the covering on and take on the lower surfaces. Lead the airbrush square to the surface, not at a slant under the edge of a mask, otherwise you drive mist under it. Before removal, check that the paint no longer feels tacky to the touch.
