This set of fine photo-etched metal parts from the Czech brand Bilek is made for superdetailing a plastic model of the F-86 Sabre jet fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model, but an accessory that replaces coarser plastic parts and adds fine details that cannot be molded convincingly in plastic.
The North American F-86 Sabre was an American first-generation jet fighter and one of the most successful machines of its day. It made its name above all in the dogfights over Korea, where it met MiG-15 fighters. Its swept wing gave it excellent agility and high speed.
The parts are separated from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bent with tweezers or a bender and glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Before applying paint it is a good idea to degrease the metal and spray it with primer.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
