A resin engine for the F4U-1 Corsair in 1:72 scale from Quickboost — a precise detail accessory; it is not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin radial engine from Quickboost for the American Vought F4U-1 Corsair fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model, but a precise replacement part for more experienced modelers that replaces the simplified plastic engine from the kit with a fine casting with a faithful arrangement of cylinders and lines. The front of the engine is clearly visible behind the propeller and a faithful part lifts the impression of a finished model markedly.
The Corsair was a carrier fighter of the US Navy and the Marine Corps with a distinctive inverted gull wing, powered by a massive air-cooled radial engine. It is precisely the front ring of cylinders behind the propeller spinner that is conspicuous, and in plastic it tends to be molded flat and without fine detail. The resin replacement offers crisper shadow and more relief. The part is meant to refine an existing Corsair model in the same scale.
Wash the resin part in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue from the mold. Cut the casting block off with a sharp knife or a fine saw and clean up the surface; protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. The engine comes out once painted with a dark metal base and the individual cylinders brought out with a dry technique.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
