Peewit - cut painting masks for the F9F-8T / TF-9J, 1:72 scale are a self-adhesive masking set for plastic models, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely cut self-adhesive masking set from Peewit for plastic models of the two-seat training version of the carrier-based fighter Grumman Cougar, designated F9F-8T and later TF-9J, in 1:72 scale. It is not a model and not a kit but a painting accessory that is bought separately. The masks are cut to the shape of the glazing of the longer two-seat cockpit and other surfaces of the model, so you spray the frames with sharp edges and no laborious cutting out of tape. The material follows the curvature of the canopy and leaves no adhesive on the part once lifted.
The Grumman Cougar was a carrier-based jet fighter of the US Navy with a swept wing. Its two-seat training version F9F-8T, after a later redesignation TF-9J, had a lengthened nose with two seats one behind the other - the student in front, the instructor behind - and was nicknamed the Twogar. For many years it served as an advanced trainer of the navy and, as the only version of the Cougar, it also saw combat in Vietnam.
Degrease the glazing and let it dry. Transfer the masks with tweezers, lay them into the frames and press the edges down with a toothpick against paint bleeding. Spray the shade of the frame first, then the primer and the camouflage, and lift the masks while the paint is fresh.
This is a masking set, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
