A resin detail set from Aires in 1:72 scale, intended to raise the fidelity of the cockpit of the American F/A-18E Super Hornet carrier-based multirole aircraft considerably. This is not a model of the aircraft but an aftermarket accessory that replaces the plastic cockpit of a suitable kit with finely cast resin parts.
The F/A-18E Super Hornet is a single-seat carrier-based multirole aircraft of the US Navy, derived from the earlier F/A-18 Hornet. Against it the airframe is larger, the engines more powerful and the range longer. The cockpit follows a modern layout with multifunction displays.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, carefully cut off the casting blocks and sand them down with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before fitting, check the fit of the cockpit against the fuselage of the kit and adjust it if need be. The interior comes into its own once it is painted and the detail is picked out with a wash.
This is a resin accessory. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
