An injection-molded plastic kit of the three-ton Ford truck in the form that was built at the Japanese assembly plant and served with the ground forces of Imperial Japan. It is modern tooling with subtly engraved detail on the cab, the hood and the load bed. The model is supplied as a kit meant to be glued together and painted.
Ford opened an assembly plant in Yokohama in the mid-1920s and became one of the first large-scale car makers in Japan. This variant of the three-ton truck came from there, and the Japanese army used it to carry men and supplies. Vehicles with the so-called Yokohama cab looked different from the European and American forms and are an interesting addition to Japanese hardware of the Second World War.
First finish the chassis, the axles and the engine bay, and only then close the cab and the body up. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and sand the mold seams down with fine abrasive paper. Painting can be managed with an airbrush as well as a brush; final washes and dry pigments will emphasize the rivets, the fenders and the wheel arches and give the vehicle a used, dusty look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
