A 3D-printed set of the FuG 202 radar in 1:72 scale adds a faithful antenna array of the airborne radar to a model of a German night fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A fine 3D-printed resin set in 1:72 scale capturing the antenna array of the FuG 202 Lichtenstein airborne radar. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory with which you fit the nose of a German night fighter with its characteristic antennas, the ones nicknamed the mattress. Thanks to 3D printing the dipoles and the booms are very thin and accurate.
The FuG 202 Lichtenstein was one of the first airborne search radars of the Luftwaffe intended for finding targets at night. Its conspicuous antenna array on the nose adorned night fighters such as the Bf 110 and became their hallmark during the night defensive operations over Germany.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports and clean them up lightly. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) into precisely drilled positions in the nose. Given how thin the antennas are, work with care; match the painting to the shade of the nose of the model and pick out the metal parts gently.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
