A set of die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Peewit brand for a model of the German Focke-Wulf Fw-189 A-1/A-2 reconnaissance aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for cleanly spraying the numerous frames of the extensively glazed crew nacelle. The masks follow the shape of the frames of a particular kit exactly.
The Focke-Wulf Fw-189, nicknamed Uhu, meaning eagle owl, was a German twin-engine reconnaissance and observation aircraft of the Second World War with a characteristic twin-boom tail and a heavily glazed central nacelle. It was deployed above all on the Eastern Front, where it earned a reputation as a tough machine.
Stick the masks onto a clean, degreased and dry surface and press their edges down well, so that the paint does not bleed underneath. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush at lower pressure. The extensively glazed nacelle has many frames, so mask them patiently part by part. Remove the masks while the paint is still fresh, so that they do not tear off a dried coat.
This is a masking set, not a model. The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the package.
