Fw 190D 1:72 — a set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks made of yellow kabuki paper for clean unmasking of the glazing and the wheels when spraying a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for a plastic model of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D fighter in 1:72 scale. The masks are made of fine Japanese kabuki paper, which holds well, follows curves and leaves no adhesive residue when taken off. They cover the canopy glazing and the other clear parts, so that after spraying only the frames stay cleanly outlined. Wheel masks are usually included as well, so that the tire and the hub can be painted separately.
The Fw 190D, nicknamed Dora, was a late development version of the famous Focke-Wulf Fw 190. Instead of the radial engine of the early versions, the Dora received a liquid-cooled inverted V12 Junkers Jumo 213 with a characteristically lengthened nose and a longer rear fuselage. It was deployed at the end of the Second World War as a high-performance Luftwaffe fighter for combat at higher altitudes.
Take the mask off the sheet carefully with a sharp knife or with tweezers, lay it on the part and press it down. Spray the paint in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge. Take the masks off while the lacquer is still fresh. For the canopy frames it works well to spray the interior color first and the airframe color afterwards.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
