A set of self-adhesive painting masks from Eduard in 1:72 scale for models of the Japanese Mitsubishi G3M Nell bomber. The masks are precisely cut from yellow masking (kabuki) tape and make it easy to mask the extensive canopy glazing cleanly.
The G3M has intricate glazing with a great many frames, and outlining them by hand takes a long time. The pre-cut masks fit the individual panels exactly, so a sharp boundary forms between the frame and the glass, with no overspill. Paint cannot bleed under kabuki tape, and when the job is done it comes off with no adhesive residue.
Lift the masks off with tweezers and place them dry, pressing the edges down carefully. The inside of the glazing can be painted in the interior color before masking. After spraying, remove the masks while the paint is still fresh.
The masks do not include paint or glue; this is an accessory for a separately sold plastic model.
