The resin castings have a finer surface detail than injected plastic, but they call for a different procedure of preparation. The set is supplied unpainted and without a base model.
The GAM-67 Crossbow was an American project of the 1950s: an unmanned vehicle with a jet engine, launched from a bomber and homing on the emissions of enemy radars. It came from the design of the target drones of the period, and its task was to open the way for bomber formations by knocking out the radar network of the air defenses. The project never reached operational service and was stopped in the second half of the 1950s, so the Crossbow remained one of the less known items of the early Cold War. That is precisely why it appears in the modeling range only rarely.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with dish soap so that the release agent from the mold disappears from the surface, or the paint will not hold on them. Do not snap the casting blocks off but cut them with a fine saw and then level the surface with a file. Protect your airways when sanding resin and work wet, as resin dust is unpleasant. It is glued with super glue; ordinary cement for plastic does not work here. Apply a primer before painting, as only on it will the fine engraved detail of the casting come out. If you hang the set under a model of its carrier, check the position of the pylon dry, as resin is heavier than plastic and the joint has to hold.
This is an accessory, not an airplane kit. The set is supplied unpainted and without a base model; glue, paints and a carrier are not included in the package.
