Walking machines set against the background of the Second World War are a genre of modeling in their own right today. They rest on a simple idea: what if the late projects that ended on paper had gone further than their creators intended. The designation E75 refers to the real German E series, which was meant to standardize the construction of tracked vehicles into a few weight classes; the heavy type from it was never built. This model turns it into a machine on legs.
The armament is a twin 50 mm barrel, that is a pair of quick-firing cannons instead of one heavy weapon. The name describes the machine as an assault tank, which suggests its intended use: to get to the target and keep up a high rate of fire. The twin armament is at the same time the feature that sets the model apart from the sister version with a single 150 mm cannon.
Glue the legs on only after you have planned the stance dry; on a walking machine the whole impression rests on the distribution of weight. Seat both barrels parallel, as even a small deviation shows at once on a pair. The painting is not tied to any prescription, so you can even go for a winter white overspray with the dark yellow base showing through. Chipped edges, darkened joints and mud laid on the legs from the bottom upward give the machine weight.
