About product

Eduard 1:72 Gloster Gladiator (painting masks)

A set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks in quality yellow Japanese kabuki tape. The masks are machine die-cut with precision and serve for quick and clean masking of the frames of the glazed cockpit while spraying paint on a plastic model of the Gloster Gladiator biplane in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory for a kit, not the model itself.

The real subject

The Gloster Gladiator was a British single-seat fighter biplane of the 1930s and the last biplane in RAF service. It was powered by a Bristol Mercury radial engine. In the opening stages of the Second World War it went into action over Norway, Greece and Malta, where it earned a reputation as a tough machine.

Use and tips

  • Degrease the glazing and clear it of dust before sticking the masks on.
  • Transfer the individual parts with tweezers and press the edges down with a toothpick.
  • Spray the paint in thin coats, so that it does not creep under the mask.
  • Lift the masks off while the paint is still slightly supple, for a sharp edge.

Who the accessory is for

  • Modelers who want sharp cockpit frames without lengthy masking by hand.
  • Beginning and advanced builders of aircraft in 1:72 scale.

The masks are an accessory for a plastic model. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
