This set is a resin accessory in 1:72 scale, not an aircraft model. It contains faithful castings of the vectoring engine exhaust nozzles for the early versions of the Harrier (FRS.1, GR.3 and AV-8A), which can be rotated and which define the characteristic look of this vertical takeoff aircraft. The resin nozzles have crisper and deeper detail than plastic parts and are intended for more experienced modelers.
The Harrier is a British vertical and short takeoff (V/STOL) combat aircraft with a single engine whose thrust is routed into four rotating nozzles that allow vertical takeoff and hovering. The FRS.1 version served with the Navy, the GR.3 with the land-based air arm and the AV-8A with the US Marine Corps. The angle of the nozzles gives a model the dynamism matching various phases of flight.
These are resin parts for the advanced. Wash the castings to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is worth painting the nozzles in shades of scorched metal and weathering them lightly.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
