A base for a model with the motif of hexagonal concrete panels of an airfield surface, 1:72 scale. Acrylic 3 mm thick, measuring 280 x 180 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
The base carries the motif of hexagonal concrete panels of the kind laid on airfield surfaces and hardstands. The pattern alone tells where the model stands: a finished aircraft or helicopter on a bare plate looks as if it were floating, whereas on a divided concrete surface the size of the machine is apparent at once from a comparison with the size of the panels. It is a base under an already finished model; nothing is built or painted on it.
The plate is of acrylic 3 mm thick, measures 280 x 180 mm and weighs 170 g. In 1:72 scale that corresponds to roughly twenty by thirteen meters of real airfield surface, so a model of a fighter or a helicopter in the same scale fits onto it comfortably, with space left around it. The 3 mm thickness gives the plate rigidity, so it does not bend under the model and can be carried with it.
Either just stand the model on the base, or fix it to the plate with double-sided tape so that it does not shift when carried. Acrylic scratches easily, so wipe it with a soft dry cloth and do not touch it with solvents; nail polish remover and spirit cleaners will cloud the surface for good. When photographing, place the model off center rather than in the middle and leave a stretch of free surface in front of it, as the shot then does not look cramped.
The model, the figures and the paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
