The 1:72 History of RAF 19 Sqn 1935 - 91 decal sheet from Xtradecal charts the markings of No. 19 Squadron RAF across several decades.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a decal sheet in 1:72 scale, that is an accessory for a model already built. The British manufacturer Xtradecal issues themed sheets devoted to the history of individual squadrons, and this one covers No. 19 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in the period set out in the name. Which particular types of aircraft and how many schemes the sheet contains is given on the packaging and in the instructions supplied with the sheet.
Squadron sheets differ from type sheets in that they follow one unit across its equipment. During the span of years given in the name, No. 19 Squadron went through a development from propeller fighters to jet equipment, and this unit was in fact the first to receive the Supermarine Spitfire fighter in 1938. For the modeler a sheet like this is interesting because it makes it possible to build a coherent group of models linked by one unit badge.
With squadron sheets only a few markings from the whole sheet are often applied. Do not cut the decals out in quantity in advance, therefore. Soak each piece separately and watch the soaking time; a few seconds in lukewarm water is usually enough, after which take the decal out and let it rest for a moment on a paper towel. The adhesive releases out of the water as well. An over-soaked decal loses most of its adhesive, floats over the surface and settles badly.
A decal sheet is an accessory. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
