Kelik 1:72 HMS Argus 1943 Type 1 is a color display base showing the deck of the British aircraft carrier Argus, intended under aircraft models in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This base from Kelik brings a piece of the flight deck of HMS Argus under a model, as it looked in 1943. The Type 1 designation belongs to the first of the two cuts offered.
A finished aircraft laid on a bare table or on the glass of a display case lacks both scale and setting. A deck surface supplies both in a moment and calls for no terrain modeling. For anyone who does not fancy building a scene, it is the quickest route to an impressive presentation of finished work. Another advantage is that the base can be swapped for another at any time without having to dismantle or unstick anything.
Argus went into history as the first ship with a flight deck running the whole length of the hull, which earned her a nickname taken from the shape of a flatiron. By the Second World War she was already among the veterans: she ferried aircraft to Malta, took part in covering the landings in North Africa and in the later phase of the war served mainly to train carrier crews.
It serves to display a model; neither the aircraft nor the ship is included in the delivery.
